March 17 - Day 1

Keynote 1 - Carole Ackermann | 10:15

Dr. Ackermann will share insights on hospitality competencies and how they can be applied to both hospitality & non-hospitality careers. She will also delve into employment expectations due to challenges relating to the three dimensions; Height, Width, and Depth.

Passion for innovation - that's driving Carole. Having more than twenty years of leadership experience in SMEs and large companies, she invests in start-up companies in the technology sector and supports female founding talents. She is President of the EHL Board of Trustees, Vice President of BVZ Holding with the most beautiful mountain railroad to Gornergrat and member of the Board of Directors of Allianz Suisse, BKW and BNP Paribas Switzerland. For years she has been a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen, where she is committed to providing students with practical insights and encouragement for entrepreneurship.

March 18 - Day 2

Keynote 3 - Robert Mellwig | 09:25

Mr. Mellwig will call upon 27 years of hospitality experience to share teachings about employer sentiment in hospitality and how it has changed over the years. As the demand for talent in hospitality grows, how do brands adapt?

Panel 2 - F&B Innovation | 10:15

F&B as an industry often gets overshadowed by lodging in the term “hospitality.” The industry, however shows consistent growth and innovation to adapt to changing environments. Ludovic & Jhonathan will share how their firms have innovated to adapt to changing demands.

Keynote 4 - Stowe Shoemaker | 15:45

Dr. Shoemaker will share teachings from his latest book, Hospitable Healthcare. Hospitable Healthcare outlines the gap in service quality of healthcare providers and what they can learn from hospitality and service excellence principles.

Panel 1 - Overtourism & Its Consequences | 12:00

Focusing on the Width dimension of YHS 2025, the first panel will cover now omnipresent idea of overtourism, and how it has impacted key tourism markets. Panelists will share their expertise on their home markets (UK, Greece, Portugal), as well as perspectives as unique stakeholders (Owners vs. Destinations).

Panel 3 - Dynamic Pricing | 17:00

Dynamic pricing plays into both the Depth & Height dimensions of the YHS 2025 theme. Depth by exploring the function of a revenue manager in maximizing a finite resource. Height by exploring how revenue management may serve as a gateway to accessibility. Panelists represent dynamic pricing in the hotel, tech, and ski resort industries.

March 19 - Day 3

Keynote 2 - Guy Crawford | 13:05

The hospitality industry is undergoing a profound transformation - balancing commercial viability with community impact and sustainability. Mr. Guy Crawford will explore the turnaround story of Highland Coast Hotels, a small group of hotels in rural Scotland backed by Private Equity and the Scottish Development Bank.

Hans Meyer is a forward-thinking leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for creating and operating innovative concepts that blend living, working, and social spaces, transforming the travel experience for modern professionals. With a career spanning over three decades, Hans has built a reputation for challenging industry norms and developing award-winning, globally recognized hotel brands like citizenM and Zoku through a blend of creativity and strategic insight.

Panel 4 - Asset Management | 10:15

The goal of an asset manager is to make the most of their property. In an effort to maximize the finite resource of a hotel property, asset management falls under the depth dimension of YHS 2025's theme. Former president of HAMA North America (Hotel Asset Managers Association), Matthew Arrants will host a panel on hotel asset management as an industry & career.
